A BHGH Freshman Making the Most of Her Opportunities

This is my first year in Boys Hope Girls Hope and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the program. I enjoy being a Boys Hope Girls Hope scholar, because I get to be a part of an amazing community of kids. I enjoy being around them because they are supportive and funny people. I also appreciate the help I’ve gotten with my transition to high school. Boys Hope Girls Hope provides me with tutors, opportunities to participate in sports, and with uplifting words during hard times.

Super Saturdays are days the program requires all scholars to come in and do school work. Like any other teen I do not enjoy waking up early to do homework, but I realize, in the long run, it is beneficial for me. Besides the hard work, I have also had fun moments, like when we went to the Broncos game. I got to have fun with the other scholars, yelling the songs they played during the breaks of the game, at the top of our lungs. I also had fun when we went to the Avalanche game and I learned how hockey is played. I was surprised how many fights happen in hockey.

Thanks to BHGH I have been able to achieve good grades, do service, and much more, in a short amount of time. I cannot wait to see what else I will achieve with the Boys Hope Girls Hope and my fellow scholars. Thank you!
