Academy News, by Ryan Widemon

Adan and Yishak at diaAcademy scholars remained busy as they worked through the third quarter of this school year. The scholars had career panels, group mentoring, and also participated in a “Future Fair”. Our juniors also participated in an overnight campus visit to Adams State University in Alamosa. This is the second chance for our junior class to visit a campus overnight and get the full college experience. The scholars had the opportunity to share dinner with the President of ASU, stay in the dorms, attend a class, and they even got a rock wall climbing tutorial. We were all very impressed by the amount of effort the folks at Adams State put into making our experience so valuable to all of our scholars who are preparing to make decisions on their college future.

The final big event that took place in the past month was the implementation of the BHGH On Course For College Platform. This new platform will be implemented at both the Residential and Academy programs in Colorado, as well as every BHGH affiliate across the country to maintain a consistent set of expectations for all of the BHGH scholars across the world. In order to make sure each cities affiliates got the proper training on this platform, BHGH established a peer training course in Phoenix where each affiliate sent two students to learn the detail of the platform and return to their respective affiliates to teach the other scholars how the platform works. Yishak  and Adan traveled to Phoenix who returned fully informed and they are both doing a fantastic job guiding scholars through the site.
