Campus Visit to Colorado Mesa University

CO mesa photo 2014During the 2014 fall break, BHGH Academy juniors from Aurora Central High School and a BHGH residential scholar from Grandview High School had the privilege of spending two days at Colorado Mesa University. The university provided a very fancy bus that had an actual restroom! The trip was about 5 hours long with light traffic. When we finally got there, wonderful people greeted us and we got settled into our dorm rooms. We arrived there in time for dinner and, although I dropped my pizza and tried to act like it did not happen, the food was delicious. Ryan could not get enough of the pumpkin ice cream! After dinner we went to the recreation center and enjoyed the swimming pool and the exercise equipment. The dorms we slept in were nice and cozy. The next morning we woke up, had breakfast with Tim Foster, the president of the university, and then we toured the university. We were given a lot of valuable information about the campus, like the fact that they are one of the only schools in Colorado that has a body farm! The body farm is used to store dead bodies for investigations for students who are enrolled in the criminology program at CMU. This campus was absolutely amazing and the view of the mountains was even better. This experience was unforgettable, and I am very thankful for this opportunity and I hope we get to have many more.imgres
