From the Executive Director

‘Tis the season for grateful hearts and the counting of many blessings.  Each day, I interact with people who want to make a better world – our staff, the board of directors and our many volunteers and donors.  It is affirming to know what goodness there is in the world.

We are getting ready for the holidays.  The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, scholars, their families, volunteers and donors celebrated the holiday.  Check out the video. The Circle of Hope has been collecting stocking stuffers for the scholars and they are looking very full!  The houses are being decorated.  The scholars do secret santa for each other, purchasing gifts for one of their fellow scholars.  We will exchange gifts the week before Christmas. Seth Barnett, one of our Americorps Volunteers, is busy organizing holiday parties at our School-Based Enrichment Program partner schools this week.  These students are creating cards to be sent to patients at St. Jude Hospital to brighten their holidays.

We do currently have scholarships available for young men and women in our Boys Hope and Girls Hope program.  Please contact me if you know of a child, who would make a great scholar and is in need of our services.  What a wonderful gift to give a deserving child and their family in the new year!

Thank you for making our program possible.  The meals you provide, nourish the scholars.  The time you give as a mentor or tutor, develop our scholars into well-educated young men and women.  Your expertise you give as a committee or board member, move our organization forward.  The donations you give of time, talent and treasure to Boys Hope Girls Hope are changing lives.

Thank you!  Enjoy this busy month with your family and friends.  Please know how much we appreciate what you do for us.
