Microsoft Store at Park Meadows Supports Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado.

DENVER (May 20, 2011) – The Microsoft Store at Park Meadows is asking the community to get involved in its Giving Kids Tools for The Future  by “voting” for Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado on Facebook.  The community can get involved and help provide new Microsoft software for Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado.  This program helps talented and motivated students who have been held back by circumstances beyond their control by giving them the tools they need to reach their full potential, including everything from a safe home to a first-class education.

“We are so thankful for the opportunity to highlight what we do every day in here in Denver.  For two decades, Boys Hope Girls Hope has quietly transformed the lives of young men and women by breaking the cycle of poverty that traps good kids in difficult situations,” said Mary Frances Tharp, Executive Director for Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado. “That’s what we’re all about at Boys Hope Girls Hope. We believe in children. We believe in their ability to overcome circumstances.  We believe in their ability to exceed even their boldest dreams. With a good home and a quality education, we empower children to reach their full potential.  With support from the Microsoft Store we will be able to provide the latest technology for our scholars.”

Microsoft Store, through its program, will donate $5 worth of Microsoft software to Boys Hope Girls Hope, up to $100,000 worth of software, each time a customer visits the Microsoft Store Facebook page and votes for Boys Hope Girls Hope.  The voting period will began on April 25, 2011 and end on July 3, 2011.
Customers can vote for Boys Hope Girls Hope by:
(1)    Going to www.microsoftstore.com/givingkidstools
(2)    visiting the Microsoft Store at Park Meadows and voting on one of their in-store computers
(3)    Clicking through ad on email receipt after a purchase

About Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado
Boys Hope Girls Hope admits children from ages 10-14 who demonstrate the academic potential to succeed and supports them financially and emotionally, including a safe home and excellent education that will allow them to attend the college of their choice. Scholars are held to high standards and must fulfill academic requirements, participate actively in extra-curricular activities and engage in employment and community service. Boys Hope Girls Hope is a privately-funded, nonprofit organization that relies entirely on the support of individuals, corporations and foundations.

Locally, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado was established in 1993 with the Boys Hope home.  The Girls Hope home opened in January, 2010.  100% of its high school graduates have gone on to college.  Program alumni have attended and/or graduated from University of Denver, Creighton University, Regis University, University of Colorado-Boulder, University of Northern Colorado, Adams State College and Metropolitan State College.
