Regis Jesuit Scholar Katerin Shares her Productive Summer

My name is Katerin, and I’m a scholar from Regis Jesuit and I’m going to be a sophomore. I’m glad to be part of Boys Hope Girls Hope and have their support. My freshman year was a tough year with many decisions to make. Despite everything, all went well because I had Boys Hope Girls Hope to help me. I am proud to say that I made RJHS Honor Roll both semesters!

Besides helping me with academics, Boys Hope Girls Hope has given me the chance to do some summer activities and programs, such as JA/Business Week. This week-long program was a fun and amazing camp where we worked in teams to create an outdoor product for OtterBox. Through the week we learned skills that are needed in a business career path. For example, we had “mocktails” where we had to network. This was my first year participating in JA/Business Week and I enjoyed it and I plan on going back next year.

I also have participated in a Boys Hope Girls Hope Lunch and Learn with Versatility Creative Group, a design and marketing firm.  And, I recently met all of the new BHGH scholars who will attend RJHS next year. I served as Spanish-language interpreter and scholar ambassador at the New Scholar and Family orientation for the RJHS Academy.

I hope to do more activities this summer with Boys Hope Girls Hope!
