Scholar Spotlight

Ahmarri with his mentor, Martin Walsh

Hi, my name is Ahmarri. I am a sixth grader at St. Therese.  I officially moved into Boys Hope in August, but I came to visit a couple weeks during the summer.  I like Boys Hope because of the education and because of the people.

When I grow up I want to be a scientist and also either a baseball or basketball player.  The college I want to go to is Arizona State University.  I want to go there because they will have a good education for me and I really like their teams.  Boys Hope will help me by having me face the fears I have, like speaking in front of a crowd!  They will give me the education I need to be successful.

Before Boys Hope my life was pretty tough.  I didn’t really have a lot of friends and I had a hard time following good examples.  Now, after being in Boys Hope my life my life has really improved.  I have people who push me to do my best and a lot more role models.  E ssentially, Boys Hope is doing what it does best… It gives me and my family hope.  Thank you.
