My name is Ann Rice and I’ve been involved with Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado for about 7 years. I love this organization because of the hope and opportunity it offers to the young people it serves. I am a board member and served for a long time on the Development Committee until switching to the Program Committee last Spring. I also have been involved with mentoring residential scholars. As well, I have enjoyed tutoring nonresidential 4th and 5th graders through the School Based Enrichment Program. Through this program, Boys Hope Girls Hope is able to expand its reach in the community. During the academic year, we provide language/vocabulary enrichment for capable students from Spanish-only or limited-English homes at three area elementary schools. The specific purpose is to provide these children with an opportunity to improve their command of English, especially through building their vocabulary. I really enjoy working with these students and watching their confidence and capabilities blossom.
