West Monroe Day of Service
As a part of West Monroe’s “2024 Day of Service” a group of West Monroe team members, including Ken Goebel (BHGH Board Member) and Kevin Kiyosaki (BHGH YP Board Vice Chair), led a Career Readiness workshop for Boys Hope Girls Hope scholars and collegians.
Throughout the workshop, scholars and collegians attended three different breakout groups with the goal to learn at least one thing in each session that would help them with applying for college or starting their post-college career.
The first breakout group was focused on the interviewing process. The group discussed how to prepare for interviews, role-played answering different types of interview questions, and reminded scholars and collegians to use interviews as a tool to find the best fit for their specific goals and interests.
The second breakout group was all about resumes. This session looked at sample resumes, discussed tips and tricks for writing an effective resume, and answered questions from scholars and collegians on how to tailor their specific resume to reflect their desired career path.
The third and final breakout group was focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). West Monroe shared some background information about the history of AI and how it works before the group discussed ways to use AI effectively and responsibly.
Throughout all three breakout groups scholars and collegians were able to hear about the personal experiences of West Monroe team members, ask questions, and make connections between the session topics and their real-life aspirations and goals.
