Representatives from Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado recently attended the 2025 Hope Ignites Leadership Gathering in Baltimore, Maryland. They spent time collaborating with our partners across the Boys Hope Girls Hope Network to ensure continued excellence and growth into the future by sharing their expertise on panels, discussing best practices, and learning about successes at other affiliates.
Accelerating Impact Panel
Amy Strickland, Senior Program Manager at our Regis Jesuit High School academy program, was a member of the Leadership Gathering’s Accelerating Impact Panel.
The Accelerating Impact pilot program aims to strengthen character development through positive peer groups. Amy spoke about our experience here in Colorado where our scholars were among the first participants! This pilot program is funded by the John Templeton Foundation and led in partnership with Dr. Ed Bowers, PhD from Clemson University and others within the Hope Ignites Network.
Early findings are showing that this program is helping scholars strengthen relationships, develop leadership skills, and find support in setting and achieving their goals!
Collegian Panel
Collegian Brooke spoke on a panel alongside several other collegians from across the network. Brooke is a World Wide Technology Scholar – a scholarship offered to 25 Hope Ignites collegians across the network. Brooke spoke about her experiences as an Aviation & Aerospace Science student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The panel offered a wonderful glimpse into the impact of our work, not just here in Colorado but across the entire Hope Ignites Network!
Development & Marketing Panel
Executive Director, Mary Fran Tharp, spoke on the Development & Marketing Panel. She spoke about our fundraising efforts, such as our three annual fundraising events, as well as speaking to how our affiliate works to develop our board and cultivate relationships with donors.
Celebrating Excellence
During the Leadership Gathering, our team here in Colorado was recognized by the Hope Ignites Network with a Performance Management Tool Excellence Award.
This is the second year in a row that we have received this award which is determined across six core organizational domains (Leadership, Governance & Learning; Human Capital Management; Business & Operations; Resource Development & Fundraising; Brand, Marketing & Communications; and Programming & Participant Outcomes.)
