“As I reflect on my time at USC, I’m incredibly proud of the growth I’ve experienced, personally, professionally and emotionally. I’m leaving with clarity, purpose and a deep sense of self. I’m so grateful to the mentors, peers, and communities such as Boys Hope Girls Hope who believed in me, even in moments when I didn’t fully believe in myself.”

“You have earned a seat at the table, now its your chance to take advantage of it,” a quote that has since stuck with University of Southern California senior and BHGH collegian Roxette, as she closes out her college chapter and begins a career in marketing and brand strategy.

A Glimpse into Roxette’s College Job Experience

Roxette joined the USC social media team in 2023 where her focus was to create impact content that resonates with the USC community and increase overall engagement. “I’ve been able to grow my editing and content creation skills, learn the ins and outs of managing a large platform, and even meet some incredible people like Travis Scott and Snoop Dog,” she said. Prior to her work with the USC Social Media Team, she was involved with Trojan Marketing Group, a full-service, student-run, pro-bono marketing agency for businesses and non- profits in LA.

Roxette is also involved with Trojans 360 Blog, Dimelo-the USC’s Latine Focused media outlet, Business Cosmetics Club, Public Relations Student Society, Director of PR and Marketing for the Latine Student Assembly, and Troy Camp, a USC student-run organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering local youth through year-round programs and a free summer camp. “These organizations have given me far more than just involvement, they’ve equipped me with real-world skills in marketing, leadership, storytelling, and collaboration. They’ve helped me grow into a confident communicator, creative thinker, and purpose driven professional. I feel fully prepared to enter the job market with not only the technical skills, but also the heart and mindset to make a difference,” she said.

Upon graduation, Roxette hopes to pursue a full-time role in marketing, ideally within brand strategy or consumer research. Her goal is to be part of a team that creates impactful, data-driven campaigns.

Life Changing Internship

Roxette recently received a scholarship through USC’s Annenberg School for Communication that will allow her and fourteen other students to take part in an international learning experience this summer. Its part of a competitive study abroad program focused on global communications. The program takes them to London, Madrid, and Dublin where she will be visiting top international PR and marketing firms. Immediately following, she will begin interning for Zeno in Los Angeles.
